Six – time champions and current cup holders, the Super
Falcons of Nigeria, on Thursday beat their Ethiopian counterparts 3 – 0 in
their second match of the on going African Women’s Championship (AWC) in
Equitorial Guinea.
A goal before the half hour mark by Esther Sunday and two
second half strikes by veterans Stella Mbachu and Perpetua Nkwocha ensured victory for the West Africans.
The East Africans should have centre referee Maximina
Bernado to thank for disallowing two more late goals scored by Nigeria, which
many see as questionable decisions.
The Falcons take on Cote D’ Ivoire in their last group game
on Sunday.
