Arsene Wenger Goes Under More Pressure, Refuses To Criticize His Gunners After Bradford Shock Defeat

Bradford celebrates Arsenal defeat

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has declared that it’s not lack of quality that made them lose to Bradford City in Tuesday night's quarter final Capital Cup disaster.

"It's not a lack of quality. We couldn't convert our chances for different reasons. Overall it was a real cup game,” Wenger said after the game.

Gary Thompson had given the League Two club a first half lead before a 23,971 sell-out crowd (Bradford’s record attendance since 1960). This nearly proved the winner but Thomas Vermaelen’s header three minutes from time sent the match into extra time.

Santi Carzola, who saw his 30 yard drive hit the wood work in extra time, had his side’s first penalty saved by man of the match Matt Duke. MarouaneChamakh went on to hit the post before Vermaelen also struck the post to send the massive crowd into wild jubilation.
